January’s Cake Recap

I know January isn’t over yet, but I have closed ordering for the rest of the month (more to come on that later). It’s been a crazy busy week with not one, not two, but THREE cakes! I usually limit my cakes to one a week and this week reminded me why.

Ford Truck Baby Shower Cake

This weekend I had the pleasure of creating an adorable cake for a baby shower.  This antique Ford truck inspired cake was such a fun cake to make.  Although simple in shape, this cake was a tad time consuming because of the size and fondant work.  This cake measures 16x13x3 and is made of two vanilla sheet cakes, and two 4″ round vanilla cakes (wheels and wheel wells), one large batch of vanilla buttercream and about 1 pound of fondant.

Twentyone Pilots Birthday Cake

Using sugar sheets and fondant I was able to make this Twentyone Pilots Blurryface album cover birthday cake come to life!

Check out my blog post to see how I recreated the details on the album cover!

Buck or Doe?

This week I had the pleasure of making my first gender reveal cake!  Today they will find out if they are going to be adding a little buck or doe to their family. Visit my blog to see how I made the camouflage for the top of the cake!

Golf Cake

This week’s cake was a 21st birthday cake for a golf addicted guy.  This four layer chocolate cake features red, black and white “plaid” (his school colors), a fairway area, putting green, bunker, hole, golf ball and pin sporting the number 21.

Baseball Birthday Cake

The Turner Family is going to be all caked out by the end of the weekend!  First baby Legend’s baby shower cake on Saturday and then Lincoln’s 5th birthday on Sunday. This baseball themed cake has several special little features customized just for Lincoln!

Elephant Baby Shower Cake

Celebrating little precious Legend and his family this weekend called for a precious cake. This elephant themed baby shower cake was so fun to make and a big hit at the party!
